This rainwater finds its way into your drain tile and subsequently into your sump pump.  Rather than putting your sump pump on overtime, the solution is to extend your downspout discharges away from the building structure by installing downspout extensions out to pop-up bubblers. Or if possible, connect your gutter downspout discharges directly to the Village or City storm sewers.

Another common issue that we find is back pitched sidewalks or walkways which are also pitched towards the home instead of away from the home.
