Hardscape Design | Raised Paver Patio and Pavillion in Palatine.

This client contacted us for a re-design of their back Patio.  They wanted to replace their dated patio, add functional space, a seat wall, lighting, and a covered structure.  After gathering input from the client about how the space would be utilized and what they had envisioned, we created this design for them.  This Raised Paver Patio in Palatine was done in Unilock Bristol Valley ‘Bavarian Blend’ pavers with a Copthorne ‘Basalt’ accent and Brussels Block ‘Sandstone’ soldier course. The walls and steps were built using Olde Quarry ‘River’ wall block with Ledgestone ‘Buff’ coping and Copthorne ‘Basalt’ banding.  The pavilion was constructed with smooth Cedar posts with pine soffit and ceiling. The low-voltage lighting system utilizes Ledgelights underneath the step and wall coping with path lighting to illuminate the paver patio and walkway.

Hardscape Design | Paver Patio, Seat Wall, Outdoor Fireplace

This Barrington Fireplace design began with the homeowner wanting to replace an old patio, add a covered structure, seat wall, outdoor TV, and fire feature. After several renderings we arrived at the final design shown here. The patio is done in Unilock Beacon Hill Smooth ‘Granite Fusion’ pavers with Copthorne ‘Basalt’ running bond border.  The walls and stoops were built with Olde Quarry Smooth ‘Midnight Charcoal’ with Ledgestone ‘Grey’ Coping.  The fireplace has electrical, and gas run to it to accommodate the outdoor television sitting above the Fire Gear drop in unit.  The fireplace was built with U-Cara smooth ‘Dark Charcoal’ panels. The patio and wall were all sealed to enhance the colors and protect these beautiful products. Ledgelighting adorns the seat wall, stoops, and steps.

Landscape Design | Medinah

Natural Innovations completed this landscape design for a new construction project in Medinah.  The client contacted us to enhance the outdoor spaces that were contained in the initial construction plans.  We added a raised paver patio in the back yard with paver surfaces underneath the pavilion, and paver walkways to connect the two spaces.  Another paver walkway and front stoop were added in functionality and aesthetics to the front of the home.  Paver brick was chosen from Unilock to complement the natural stone façade of the home and pavilion.

Up-lighting was used to highlight the architecture of the home.  While ledge lighting and path lighting was added to accent the brick paver installations. Unilock Bristol Valley ‘Steel Mountain’ pavers with a Copthorne ‘Basalt’ border was used for the paver surfaces. For the vertical elements we chose Olde Quarry wall block in ‘Granite’ with Ledgestone ‘Buff’ coping in the back and Umbriano ‘Winter Marvel’ coping for the front stoop and step.

Plant material was chosen to add seasonal interest, a variety of foliage texture, flower colors and timing throughout the season.  We also wanted to create more privacy in the back yard.

Natural Innovations | Landscape Design | Inverness

Designed and Built by Natural Innovations:

This project in Inverness began with the design of the front walkway, stoop, lighting, and plantings.  The following year, we added the back patio with Aluminum and vinyl pergola, grill island and lighting.  Later that season we updated all the border plantings in the back of the property to add color and privacy to the space.

The paver surfaces are done in Unilock Beacon Hill Flagstone ‘Bavarian Blend’ with Mattoni ‘Cocoa Brown’ accent, and Brussels Block ‘Sandstone’ soldier course.  The front stoop, back steps and grill island were done in U-Cara Umbriano ‘Summer Wheat’ panels and Ledgestone ‘Buff’ coping.  A polished granite countertop finished off the grill island/bar.

The pergola is from Heartland Pergolas and uses structural aluminum framing covered in maintenance free vinyl.  The pergola also accommodates an outdoor fan-light combo.

Ledgelights, up-lights and path lights were used throughout the design to accent these spaces past dusk, add depth to the property and highlight the architecture of the home.

Plant material was chosen to add multi-seasonal foliage color, alternating flowering times with diverse colors, and privacy in select areas.
